WHERE DO NOT DISTURB HAS QUITE ANOTHER MEANING
Sitting at the heart of the South Downs National Park, surrounded by rolling downland, expanses of green and ancient and varied woodland, The Woodcote is located in one of the most peaceful parts of the county. Most rooms have uninterrupted views out to this unchanging landscape and have been designed to sit seamlessly into this quiet idyll.
YOUR
ROOM
Carefully considered, each of our six rooms has a subtly different colour theme and its own collection of antiques, fabrics, pictures and accessories. All en suite, and equipped with modern essentials, Wildsmith skincare products and more, our rooms are luxurious and extremely comfortable.
Whether you would like a hearty breakfast or something lighter, you will start the day well at The Woodcote. Everything is freshly made from local ingredients, and if you would like breakfast in your room or on your terrace, just let us know.
You may wish to simply unwind and relax during your stay with us, and you are always welcome to enjoy our gardens or sit inside by the fire on colder days. If you would like to explore the surrounding area, along with many smaller trails, The South Downs Way and The Serpent Trail are both very close by for walkers, runners and cyclists. For those hiking The South Downs Way, we are the perfect stop-off. We can also arrange for you to play golf and go horse riding, both nearby.
However you choose to spend your time at The Woodcote, our team are happy to book and plan activities, and recommend the best places to visit.

EXPLORING
SUSSEX
The picturesque city of Chichester, with its renowned theatre, is half an hour away and the quaint towns of Petworth (home to the magnificent Petworth House and surrounding parkland) and Midhurst, each with their own selection of small independent shops, are both a short drive away.
Goodwood, just 11 miles away, is recognised for hosting some of the world’s most exciting motor sport and horseracing events, including the Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival. Cowdray, 10 minutes away, offers a range of premium country pursuits, both to watch or take part in. And Arundel, with its castle set high on a hill, is the perfect day out. The coast, with its many seaside towns, villages and expansive beaches, is a 40 minute drive.
Sussex is home to more than 140 vineyards, and if you would like to find out more about our local wines, we can arrange a bespoke wine tour, including tutored tasting sessions and a lunch paired with some of the county’s most delicious wines.
